About the Name
The famous writer from Singaraja, Anak Agung Panji Tisna, coined the name of Lovina for the magical beach. There are two versions explaining from where he got ‘Lovina’. Some people say that Lovina is derived from, Lafeina, a hotel in India, where Anak Agung Panji Tisna stayed whilst writing his new novel. Others mention that Lovina is taken from the plants planted by his children in which those plants are hugging each other just like two persons in love. Whatever it comes from, Lovina has been renowned for its beauty even more Balinese local artist made a song entitled Di Pantai Lovina (At Lovina Beach) to show that Lovina is as best as other beach in Bali.
In the meantime, during his tenure as the regent of Buleleng, Drs. I Ketut Ginantra explained his interpretation of the word Lovina. According to him Lovina is an abbreviation of ‘Love’ and ‘Ina’ means Love Indonesia.
